Smuggler Racing Team is made up of two teams, offshore 3A and 3B. We have two boats in action: a girls’ team, A-73, and a second crew running in offshore 3B, B-32.

Offshore 3

Offshore 3A and 3B are offshore racing categories governed by the UIM (Union Internationale Motonautique). Both are raced with boats of 115 horsepower.

Offshore 3A

Monohulls only
Hull length between 5.75 and 7 metres
Maximum beam of 1.95 metres

Offshore 3B

A mix of catamarans and monohulls
No beam restriction

In both classes the boats must run “green” 115-horsepower engines. The engines must be 100% stock and may not be modified.

Record

Rasmus Hamrén started racing offshore in 2011, with placings at European, World and Swedish championship level. In 2017 he ran his first race with Madeleine Samuelsson, and since then the pair have won every title except World Championship gold — Swedish, Finnish, Nordic and European championships.

Madeleine is one of the funniest and most appreciated co-pilots in the world, and they are coming up on ten years together. In 2026 they became European and Nordic champions in offshore 3B.

Record

The Smuggler RS is developed and built by Smugglerbåtar AB. Lina Hamren began her career in 2016 in Classic Offshore with a Weedo GT and has raced the Smuggler RS since 2018.

Since 2022 she has raced with Wilma Jansson as co-pilot, and together they are one of the best all-female offshore crews in the world. They have raced the World Championship in both 3A and 3B, where 3A boats may also compete, and both the team and the boat’s design have won a growing following in the class.

Latest news

2026: European gold, Nordic gold and a crash at the Worlds

Rasmus and Madeleine won both the European and the Nordic championship in offshore 3B in 2026 — the biggest results of the season for B-32.

At the World Championship in Arendal, B-32 was running with the lead group in Race 1 of Class 3B. Attempting to pass, the boat took on water under the hull and flipped. The crash means B-32 is taking a break in 2027.
