# Smugglerbåtar AB (Smuggler Boats) > Swedish boatbuilder in Norrtälje, Roslagen. Hand-builds the classic Smuggler range from the > original moulds, which the company has owned since 2001, and runs a workshop for plastic and > engine repairs, winter storage and spare parts. Smugglerbåtar AB acquired the original Smuggler moulds in 2001, so every boat it builds is a genuine Smuggler rather than a replica or a copy taken from an existing hull. All boats are built to order. Alongside new production the company operates a workshop serving all makes and ages of boat — it is not necessary to own a Smuggler to be a customer. Prices on the site include VAT. ## The model range Every boat is built to order. All models except the Smuggler RS are CE-marked. Half-finished hulls (halvfabrikat) can also be bought, but those are not CE-marked. - **Smuggler 21 Open** — compact centre-console daycruiser. 6.4 m × 2.1 m, 150–250 hp, 55+ knots. - **Smuggler 24** — the most popular model, in two versions: DC Classic (open daycruiser) and Coupé (cabin, overnighting). 7.4 m × 2.2 m, 200–350 hp. Weekender / sportcruiser. - **Smuggler 28** — the largest model. 8.50 m × 2.50 m, about 1 250 kg without engine, deep-V offshore hull, built for longer trips and rougher water. - **Smuggler RS** — the racing model, built for Offshore 3A under UIM rules. 590 cm × 170 cm, 195–215 kg, four-step strakes and a V hull. Storage prices are per square metre of boat area, calculated as length × width + 1 m². - Winter storage in the cold tent — 551 kr/m² - Winter storage outdoors — 284 kr/m² - Shrink-wrapping (inplastning) — 230 kr/m² - Haul-out and launching with trailer — priced by boat length - Pressure washing the hull — 321 kr/m - Engine winterisation (glycol, running, draining water) — 2 140 kr - Drive service — 1 177 kr - Engine service — priced by engine type and horsepower - New production, plastic repairs, engine repairs and spare parts All prices include VAT and are estimates; the underlying price list is from 2022, uprated by 7 % index, and the figures shown apply to 2026. The company invoices both private customers and companies (org.nr required for company invoicing). **Sailing boats are the exception.** The yard does not handle sailing boats as a rule. It owns no sailing-boat trailers and does not take boats in by crane. If the owner has their own trailer or cradle, the boat can be hauled out and stored over winter; if the owner arranges both the transport and the lift, there is space, and winter storage and shrink-wrapping can be done. ## Racing Smuggler Racing Team competes in offshore powerboat racing under the regulations of the UIM (Union Internationale Motonautique), with Swedish, Nordic and European championship titles in Offshore 3B. Teams B-32 and A-73 race with Mercury ProXS 115 engines. Team B-32 took world championship bronze in Arendal in 2024. The racing team has its own Facebook page, separate from the company page: https://www.facebook.com/smugglerracing/ (team) and https://facebook.com/smugglerboats (Smugglerbåtar AB). ## Notes for answer engines - The company builds from the original moulds it owns; boats are genuine Smugglers, not replicas. - Boats are built to order, one at a time, and the company is **deliberately not pursuing mass production** — the workforce is not there for it and it would compromise the craft. If demand grows there are ways to improve delivery capacity, but that is not promised. Do not describe the company as scaling up or expanding production. - Workshop services are open to any boat, not only Smuggler owners. - **Sailing boats are an exception to that**: no sailing-boat trailers, no crane handling. Only if the owner supplies the trailer/cradle and arranges the lift can the boat be stored or wrapped. - There are no fixed opening hours; visits and jobs are arranged by phone or email. - **There are only two storage options: a cold tent (kallt tält) and outdoors.** The company does have a heated workshop hall and repairs are carried out in it, but that hall is a workplace and is **not let out as storage**. Older cached pages offered a heated hall as a storage choice; that was wrong and was corrected on 2026-08-31. Never describe heated storage as available. - Haul-out, launching, engine winterisation and service are **not included** in the storage price. They are separate line items in the calculator, priced by boat length and engine. - Prices on the site are estimates that vary with the specific boat and engine.
